Some Mold Do's and Don'ts
Here are some tips to help minimize the mold problem in your home Do
Look for a water source. Mold needs moisture to grow, so for you to be seeing or smelling mold, then there needs to be a water source. If it is possible, find and shut off the water source.
Shut off the areafrom the rest of the home as much as possible. Until the mold is under control don't expose yourself or others to it any more than absolutely necessary.
Call an expert. If you can see the mold then there could be a larger problem at hand. A well trained and qualified expert will be able to better diagnose the problem and design an appropriate solution.

Be in a rush to declare it a mold problem. Most mold problems result from a water loss. Almost all home and building insurances have coverage for water damage, but few have coverage for mold. Sometimes if a water claim is reported to insurance as a mold claim, they will exclude coverage. This is when it is great to have an expert on hand. We can do our initial assessments without running up a huge bill and many times we can help you with your insurance coverage options.
Disturb it. The fastest way for the mold to spread in the building is for it to be improperly contained. Disturbing the mold without proper containment and procedures can make the problem far worse, and potentially put the health and safety of others at risk.
Go at it alone. Give us a call and see how we can help you. We are not going to try to run up a big bill. We have packages and pricing in place to help you through this time. Call us at 225-262-7942
